Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia Confirmed 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM Curfew starts on August 9, 2020

Bacolod City PIO published Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia issues Executive Order No. 52 series of 2020 implementing City Ordinance No. 934. According to the Executive Order No. 52, the City Ordinance No. 927, and setting the NEW DAILY CURFEW in the City of Bacolod from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM for two weeks, starting August 9 up to August 22, 2020.

SP grants mayor ‘executive prerogative’ on curfew hours. Mayor Evelio Leonardia has been granted “executive prerogative” by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) to decide on the curfew hours to be implemented in Bacolod, while the City is under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) from August 1 to 15.

According to BACOLOD CITY PIO, “If the mayor wants to move the curfew to 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. under CO 934, he is allowed to issue an executive order without any more approval of the SP.”

Baribar said, “We have given mayor the right to decide. Mayor has the last say. It was stated in the provision of the amended ordinance.
