DOH Confirmed COVID-19 cases Reach to 63,001 as of July 17, 2020

BREAKING: COVID-19 cases in the country reached 63,001 with 1,841 new infections. Recoveries total 21,748 with 311 more survivors, while the death toll is at 1,660 with 17 new fatalities.

The Department of Health (DOH) provides the latest information on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country, including the actions undertaken by the department in addressing the pandemic, through a ‘Virtual Presser’ on July 17, 2020. 

As of 4PM today, July 17, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 63,001.

A total of 1,841 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 76 out of 84 current operational labs.

DOH likewise announces 311 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 21,748. (Source DOH)

“Of the 17 deaths, 9 (53%) in July, 6 (35%) in June, 1 (6%) in May, and 1 (6%) in April. Deaths were from NCR (9 or 53%), Region 11 (4 or 24%), Region 10 (2 or 12%), and Region 7 (1 or 6%); 1 (6%) case was a repatriate.”
