ABS-CBN EMPLOYEES — The employees of ABS-CBN are now allowed to transfer to other networks, even though the house hearing of the franchise renewal of the giant TV network is still ongoing.

As of the Cease and Desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) that was issued on June 30, the ABS-CBN affiliates on Channel 43, TV Plus and SKY Direct, were barred from operating.

Based on some report, it said that some Kapamilya stars had already recieves offers from other networks. There are also rumors that are circulating that a wealthy producer has offered them to do a TV series on TV5.

With this uncertainty, the Palace is expecting the Congress to decide on the franchise with consideration to the employees.

Unfortunately, the pending shows of the Kapamilya network have to bid goodbye as they no longer have the venue for their broadcast.

Moreover, staff members of Kapamilya network said that some programs held a Zoom meeting a day after the NTC issued the CDO, based on the article from PEP.

It stated that the network’s management relayed to the ABS-CBN employees to stop all projects. Which means, 50 percent cut on the salary of employees was imposed and this lessened to 25 percent (cash assistance) for some programs.

According to the network’s insider, this is the amount that the management can give until the end of July 2020.

Aside from the topic about the salary, ABS-CBN employees were also told that they can apply for work to other companies of TV networks.

With this, the non-compete clause in their contracts will no longer take effect.
