Gov. Bong Lacson Wants to extend General Community Quarantine in Negros Occidental (May 15 to 30, 2020)

Gov. Bong Lacson to seek guidance from national IATF to extend the general community quarantine in Negros Occidental for another two weeks after May 15. ““I don’t think we’re ready to allow everybody to go out. It is a perfect quarantine model for now.” 

Recently, the city government here has established communication lines with Bacolod residents stranded in other places to assist them in coming home amid the ongoing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). 

Negros Occidental also has two new confirmed cases: a 30-year-old female from La Castellana, and a 40-year-old male from Escalante. Both are in facility-quarantined. 

As of 4 PM today, May 6, 2020, the Department of Health reports 320 new cases (PH9685-PH10004) of COVID-19. NCR with additional 179 new cases, Region 7 with an additional 98 new cases and 43 new cases from different Regions. The total number of cases in the country is now at 10,004. DOH also announces 98 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 1,506. 

In Global tally, there are 3,753,782 million total number of cases, 1,242,029 have been recovered and 263,785 deaths.
