During the nation’s address of President Rodrigo Duterte on April 27, he talks about what will happen in the Philippines after ECQ would have to end on May 15.
President Duterte had his address the nation on the late night of April 27, where he discusses what will happen to the Philippines after the end of extended enhanced community quarantine on May 15 in some parts of the country which have a high risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.
According to the president, the government may allow some to open partially such as the construction. They just have to wait for the declaration of modified community quarantine after the ECQ ends. The selected sectors are those that can observe social distancing.
Duterte said, “Kasi kung magsiksikan kayo diyan sa LRT na naman, wala ng katapusan ang problema natin. It will never end and it will bring us down and down,” in his speech he will also have to announce MCQ after the ECQ.
Based on the April 27 update on COVID-19 related figure from the Department of Health (DOH), the country now has a total of 7,777 confirmed cases. There are 511 fatalities that have been recorded and 932 have already recovered. Some areas in the country, those that are identified under moderate or low risk are put under general community quarantine.
