Bantayan Island reports first confirmed case of COVID-19 disease.

The report was first appeared at the Facebook Page of Sugbo.ph dated April 28, 2020.

According to the post, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia confirmed the case saying that the patient is currently admitted at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Report also said, the health department is now on its way of getting complete information about the case history of patient and contact tracing is immediately initiated by the authorities.

As of April 28, 2020, seventy-three (73) new confirmed cases added to the record in the entire Cebu.

According to cebusite.com seventy-two (72) of the new cases are coming from Sitio Callejon, Brgy. Labangon and one (1) from Opra.

The new seventy-three (73) cases makes the total of 550 record of COVID-19 in Cebu City with the total of 6 victims died.

Bantayan Island is located at the nothernmost tip of Cebu. Bantayan got its name from the term “Bantayan sa Hari” which means “Watchtowers of the King.”
