Due to COVID-19, a six-week-old infant died of complications of the disease. On Wednesday, the US state of Connecticut governor said that it was one of the youngest recorded deaths from the virus.
Based on the Tweet of Governor Ned Lamont the newborn was brought unresponsive to a hospital late last week and could not be revived.
He said, “Testing confirmed last night that the newborn was COVID-19 positive.”
He added, “This is absolutely heartbreaking. We believe this is one of the youngest lives lost anywhere due to complications relating to COVID-19.”
Recently, the Illinois authorities were also investigating the death of a child who is less than one-year-old who is also tested positive for the COVID-19. The infant was nine months old, said the local media.
Novel coronavirus has caused at least 4,476 deaths in the United States. The virus was believed that it hit more older people, however, it seems that the young patients also increases its cases.
Recently, residents of New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey are some of the millions of Americans that have been ordered to stay home unless they work jobs seemed essential. As of now, that area has posted over 100,000 cases.
Lamont posted on his Twitter account that, “This is a virus that attacks our most fragile without mercy, this also stresses the importance of staying home and limiting exposure to other people.”
“Your life and the lives of others could literally depend on it.”
