38 Bacolodnon PUMs Quarantined in Mambukal Resort Tested Negative for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Going Home on April 1, 2020

The 38 Bacolodnon PUMs quarantined in Mambukal Resort, they are all tested negative for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection. The Bacolod city government is assisting the 38 Bacolodnons to send their respective homes on April 1, 2020. “The 38 patients, who have finished the mandatory 14-day quarantine along with other arriving PUMs, will be picked up by the curt bus Wednesday morning, and will be brought to their respective homes,” said City Health Office (CHO) head, Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli. 

The City Health Office (CHO) head also stated that there are nurses who will assist the patients and bring them home “door to door.” In the reports, there are 38 Bacolod PUMs are among the first batch of 89 Negrenses who arrived at the Silay Airport from Clark International Airport on March 19.

According to Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, the passengers were considered as PUMs because they have come from a place where the infection was already spreading so they had to be placed under monitoring for the safety of the community they were entering. 

Recently, Mambukal Resort is now closed to the public after deciding that the stranded passengers from Luzon will be brought to the resort immediately upon arrival. As of April 1, 2020 (1:00 am), DOH recorded COVID-19 has infected 2, 084 people in the Philippines, with 88 death and 49 recovered.
