The provincial government of Negros Oriental reports the first confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Dumaguete City, Wednesday (March 11, 2020) in the evening. The patient is from Dumaguete City, has just returned from a convention in Metro Manila. Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Liland Estacion the confirmed was tagged as “Patient 39″ by the Department of Health.

According to Bimbo Miraflor, the provincial public information officer stated that the specimen was taken from the patient on March 9, and the results were made available on March 11. “The provincial leadership is appealing to those who came in contact with the patient to feel free to submit for a medical exam in case they manifested flu-like symptoms,” Miraflor said.
