Currently, the Manila City government started to implement its goal of making the city a Center of Convenience” and a “Smart City”. Last August 2019, the Manila City government also installed a kiosk outside of the Manila City Hall that serves as a free Wi-Fi hotspot, a charging station, and a phone booth.

The concept of this WIFI Hotspot came from LinkNYC Wi-Fi phone kiosks in Manhattan, New York. The installation of this thirty-four (34) Wi-Fi hotspot terminals can help the students and workers in saving money. Isko Moreno also stated that there will be an additional installation of CCTV cameras around the U-Belt to ensure the safety of students.
