The Department of Health clarifies that the total cases of coronavirus in the Philippines are 33 and not 35 as posted in social media.
Assistant Health Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in an interview that the 11 cases that are reported on Tuesday includes 2 repeat test.
According to Vergeire, “This now we are officially saying, we have new 9 cases, hindi po (not) 11. Siyam lang po (just 9), a total of 33 cases now for the Philippines of COVID-19,”
“We’d like to apologize for that mistake because earlier than that time, there was this post coming from the health emergency meeting coming from the World Health Organization wherein they initially reported the 35 cases,”
“But upon verification now that we were trying to analyze the numbers and correlating it with the list of patients we have, we found that the number that was initially reported to us were number of samples, these 11,”
Yesterday morning, they confirmed that there are 10 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines. This morning (March 10, 2020) the total count has jumped to 24. (LGUs) Local Government Units have confirmed cases of COVID-19 in their areas.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte revealed that four (4) more people tested positive for the disease. Most patients are in Metro Manila.
The DOH clarified that there are nine (9) new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines and not 11. The total number of cases confirmed in the country now is 33 and not 35.
