The Land Transportation Office (LTO) wants to suspend the license of the jeepney driver that is caught playing online games while he is driving.
The video went viral on social media of the driver that playing mobile games while driving and gathered several reactions on the netizens. And the driver was enjoying playing amidst traffic. According to the GMA News, the LTO was searching for the driver that is viral on Facebook. They said that drivers are not allowed to play while driving a public vehicle, as it may cause accidents.
According to Roberto Valera, the deputy director of the LTO Law Enforcement Unit in an interview on “24 oras” report, “Ipinagbabawal po yan. Pag nawala lang ang iyong paningin ng ilang seconds, pwede magresulta yan ng banggaan,”
The agency already identified the driver, however, it still not responding on the “showcase” order. Valera added that the driver’s license may be suspended or may be revoked for showing negligence while driving public transport.
This is the order of the agency, “Nasa section 27 Republic Act 4136 ‘yan na pag ang driver ay considered as an improper person to drive, pwede ‘yan i-suspend o irevoke ang drivers’ license,” said on the report. Although the LTO was able to track the driver down, he has not yet responded despite having a “show cause”.
