Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) A Mother and her Daughter under Observation from Coronavirus

Medical doctor Danilo Alejandro, Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center (formerly Veterans Regional Hospital) officer in charge, said that a mother and her daughter, who arrived from Hong Kong for a vacation, had been placed in an isolation room, had exhibited symptoms such as high fever, flu and vomiting aside from coming from a country with positive nCoV cases.

“The two women will remain at the isolation room while a series of check-ups on and monitoring of their conditions are ongoing,” Alejandro said.

Alejandro urged residents not to panic but remain vigilant. The Department of Health (DoH)-Cagayan Valley Center for Health and Development is closely monitoring operations at the three airports here and at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) against the virus. “The Cauayan City Domestic Airport in Cauayan City, Isabela; the Tuguegarao Domestic airport in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; and the Cagayan North International Airport (CNIA) in Lal-lo, Cagayan.”

The teams of health officials have inspected the Tuguegarao City airport, studied the flow of arriving passengers and identified the strategic position of possible areas for quarantine, said by DoH Regional Director Rio Magpantay.

Recently, the World Health Organization officials said Thursday morning in China that the coronavirus death toll has climbed to 170 — and more than 7,700 cases have been reported worldwide.
