The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) and NDRRMC announces a Magnitude 3.9 Earthquake Hits Paluan (Occidental Mindoro) on Wednesday Morning September 18, 2019 around 06:55:30 AM.

The location is 13.57°N, 120.59°E – 023 km N 38° E of Paluan (Occidental Mindoro) and the Depth of Focus (KM) is 001 with the Origin “Tectonic.”

Intensity III – Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro
Intrumental Intensities:
Intensity III – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Calapan City

PHIVOLCS is the service institute of the DOST for monitoring and mitigation of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunami.

According to Phivolcs, “We cannot predict when or where an earthquake will happen. There is no reliable technology in the world that can confidently predict the date, time and location of large earthquakes. Please avoid sharing any messages that could cause panic and fear.”
