Two construction workers are dead and one was injured after a Hotel Sogo branch in Malate, collapsed on its undergoing demolition on Monday, September 23, 2019. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno visits the said site and announced the casualty count on Monday, September 23, 2019.

The two (2) workers died namely, Jeremie Fabella and Melo Ison. Their bodies have been recovered and were transported to the Ospital ng Manila. Fabello and Ison were among the 22 laborers working on the demolition of the building.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno told to the reporters, “Investigations now will come in with regard to if there is liability sa part ng mga empleyado ng city government or may liabiltiy sa part ng Sogo as private entity or another group which is the contractor of the demolition.”
