The search for Star Cinema’s newest Darna is now over, ABS-CBN announces Jane De Leon is the new Darna. The role has been played by legendary actresses like Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Angel Locsin, and Marian Rivera.

It is under the direction of Jerrold Tarog this coming 2020. Jane De Leon most recent role was in the tv series Halik as Maggie, she played younger sister to Jericho Rosales.

ABS-CBN Films managing director Olivia Lamasan told to reporters, “Yung Darna story natin ngayon (Our Darna story now) is a genesis story, a coming of age [story]. Ang requirement talaga (The requirement really) is somebody na (who is) young and with an air of innocence, but at the same time strength of character.”
