A Battery Could Stay 400 Times Longer? Check It Here

Are you always playing games on your mobile as your past time? Or is it a habit? And then again complaining that the battery life draining faster? We’ll we may no longer have a problem with that, because a research team accidentally created a battery that could last 400 times longer.

Batteries on our cell phones are consist of lithium, but instead, scientist discovered that electricity can store in a nanowires. It’s still rechargeable but consumers can utilize then efficiently for over 200,000 charge cycles.

“We started to cycle the devices, and then realized that they weren’t going to die,” explained lead researcher Reginald Penner from the University of California, Irvine, to Popular Science

“We don’t understand the mechanism of that yet.”The researchers originally wanted to create a solid-state battery that would hold its charge through the use of electrolyte gel as opposed to the lithium batteries, which contain liquid and, along with being sensitive to temperature, are also extremely combustible.

The result is awesome since it can withstand up to 200,000 charge cycle in three months while only consuming 5 percent of its power, though scientist can’t exercise their new discovery and the system they just built is not a battery yet.
