ABS-CBN and Star Cinema have already released the statement regarding to Angel Locsin to play to role of DARNA to the big screen. The movie and the network regret to inform the public that Angel Locsin will no longer to portray the role of Mars Ravel super hero DARNA due to health concerns.

The statement of ABS-CBN and Star Cinema they said that, it is with deep regret that we announce that ABS-CBN, Star Cinema and Angel Locsin have mutually agreed that Angel will no longer do the “DARNA” movie due to health reasons. Because of her passion, dedication and commitment to the project, she underwent various rigorous training regimens for two years. Unfortunely , this lead her to developing a disc bulge in her spine.

With this problem, this may cause to Angel not to allow to do some stunts and harness to be needed in the scenes. But the fans need not to worry because they can still look forward to see Angel Locsin in some movies.
