Aquino III declared September 25, 2015 as the Regular Holiday nationwide in celebration of the Eid’l Adha Festival or the Feast of Sacrifice celebrated by millions of Muslim worldwide, according to the official report of the government.

The President of the Philippines signed the Proclamation No. 1128 declaring Friday, September 25, 2015 as a Regular Holiday nationwide in observance of Eid’l Adha, which commemorates the willingness and obedience of Ibrahim (Abraham) to God. Eid’l Adha is one of the two greatest feast of Islam.

According to the report, the declaration of September 25 as the Eid’l Adha Festival was based on the Islamic calendar and the declaration made my Saudi Arabia’s religious authority. There are millions of Muslims celebrating Eid’l Adha Festival worldwide.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on their part urged all private sector companies in the Philippines to abide by the Pay Rules during Regular Holidays.

Here’s the Holiday Pay Rules for the September 25, 2015 Holiday:

  • If the employee did not work, he or she shall be paid 100 percent of his or her salary for that day.
  • If the employee worked, he or she shall be paid 200 percent of his/her regular salary for that day for the first eight hours. For work done in excess of eight hours (overtime work), the employee shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his or her hourly rate.
  • If 12 June is the employee’s rest day and he or she still reported for work, he or she shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his or her daily rate of 200 percent.
  • If the employee worked more than eight hours on his or her rest day on 12 June, he or she shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his or her hourly rate on the day.
