PAGASA Release Typhoon Falcon Latest Update July 9, 2015

PAGASA announce that the Typhoon Falcon has maintained its strength as it continues to move over the Philippine Sea. Manila-Philippines- Local Government Units (LGUs) in Metro Manila and on nearby provinces announced class suspensions for tomorrow, July 9, 2015 (Thursday) due to “Bagyong Falcon and Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Around 5:00 p.m. update, PAGASA said that the eye of Typhoon “Falcon” was located based on all available data at 1,065 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.6°N, 132.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160kph.

Recently, PAGASA on its 10 P.M. today, the eye of Typhoon “FALCON” was located based on all available data at 985 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes or 995 East of Itbayat, Batanes (21.2°N, 131.4°E).

It was also a strength maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

PAGASA Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph.

Typhoon FALCON

Forecast Positions
• 24 hour (Tomorrow evening): 615 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes
• 48 hour (Friday evening): Outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) or at 705 km North of Itbayat, Batanes
• 72 hour (Saturday evening): 935 km North Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes (Outside PAR)

• Estimated rainfall amount is from heavy to at times intense within the 300 km radius of the typhoon.
• Fisherfolk are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Luzon.
• Meanwhile, STS “Linfa” (“Egay” outside PAR) will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over the western section of Luzon.
Important announcement, the residents in these areas are advised to be alert against possible flash-flood and landslides.

  1. We suffered heavy rain here in the province of busuanga coron palawan but the pupils still going to school just because the classes of all schools here in all level are not suspended.
