Kathniel Movie Leads the Race of 2015 Box Office Ranking

Past mid-year and our list of released local movies is getting longer and longer. But the question is, who’s leading?

Number one on the list is the Teen King and Queen of Philippine Movies, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s Crazy Beautiful you.

The movie which is produced by Star Cinema currently holds the title of highest gross on its first day of release and officially ended the day with P38 million. It was reported to have earned P5 million on its first hour and Kathniel fans held 88 block screenings which is also the most number of block screenings up to date.
The film earned P110 million on its 5th day and earned P320 million in the Philippines alone in its more than 4 weeks run on cinemas.

Second on our list is You’re My Boss earning P210 Million topbilled by Coco Martin and Toni Gonzaga. Gonzaga currently holds the Guillermo Mendoza Box Office Queen title with Starting Over again movie. You’re My Boss is also produced by Star Cinema.

That Thing Called Tadhana, a Cinema One Original entry and re-distributed by Star Cinema is on the third spot earning P125 Million. It is currently holding the title of highest grossing independent film.

Climbing on our chart, currently on fourth spot is The Breakup Playlist earning P15 Million on its first day. The movie reached P100 Million on its 5th day of showing. The film is still on its third week on cinemas and no further gross announcement yet.

On fifth spot is Just the Way You Are earning P100 Million mark. The movie is the first ever big screen tandem of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano following the success of their first primetime series.

There were no figures released for Edsa Woolworth, Halik sa Hangin, Tragic Theatre, Para Sa Hopeless Romantic and You’re still the One.

Coming on cinemas on July 12 is Chain mail by Viva films starring Meg Imperial, Shy Carlos and AJ Muhlach and on August 12 is The Love Affair starring Bea Alonzo, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta produced by Star Cinema.
