Magnitude 4 earthquake hits Tagbilaran City in Bohol last Sunday night, January 18, 2015, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLCS) said.
There was no immediate report of damage or injury from the quake struck at 8:33 p.m. 26 kilometers northwest of Tagbilaran City and a swallow depth of four kilometers.
Intensity V was felt in Tagbilaran City and Loon, Bohol: Intensity II in Tayasan and Sibulan Negros Oriental and Argao, Cebu; and Intensity I in Busay, Cebu.
The earthquake was also felt in parts of Cebu and Negros Occidental. Last Oct. 15, 2013, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck underneath Bohol that dominated the live of 222 people and almost 976 injuries.
According to the reports, the Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
