A certain traffic officer does something that really catches the attention of the people by “selling Kakanin” as another source of income. He actually sells foods to the Motorist located at EDSA area; his actual act is recorded on the video and successfully uploaded on social media sites.

Upon uploading, moments later the video becomes viral and netizens gives a positive response towards the action of the officer to sell something as an additional source of income.

Due to his act MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino praised him last Monday and summoned him to his office.

At first Officer Gonzales is scared upon receiving the order that he must report to MMDA Office   by Chairman Tolentino, he becomes curios about the reason why his boss wants to see him. He stressed that the MMDA might punish him  because he did something wrong, but surprisingly he receive a recognition from Tolentino stating that he stands to be a good example to other traffic officers out there.

The Chairman noted “Gawan ng paraan para ma-promote”.

He is praised because of engaging in activities like “Pangongotong” or corruption, he exerts effort to sell to add his income in a more legal way, he also added that his monthly salary of 15,000.00 is not enough to support his family; especially he has two children studying one at college and the other in high school.

He sells ‘kakanin” during Saturday and Sunday, ask if why Officer Gonzales not influence by other officer out there, he noted even though they were, his family maintains a good reputation, knowing that his family is a known clan back to his province.
