A 12-year-old Grade 5 pupil from Kalibo, Aklan gave birth to a baby boy early morning Monday November 3, 2014 at the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital in the province.
The parents of Angie (not real name) were shock considering that their daughter was young enough at the age of 12-year-old to get pregnant and besides, their daughter was reportedly no boyfriend.
Earlier, Angie was complaining for continuous stomach pain that her parents brought her to a quack doctor (albularyo) to see if their speculation about the pain complained by Angie was due to a supernatural reason. The Faith-Healer (quack doctor) then diagnosed that Angie is having a cancerous tumor in her tummy so the reason that her belly was swelling.
Despite of the faith-healer’s findings, the parents of Angie have decided to make alternative opinion and plan to undergo medical procedure. Earlier on Sunday, November 2, 2014, Angie complained an intense stomach pain the reason that her older sister rushed her to the hospital in the province.
It was then, while Angie was at ‘Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital,’ the parents knew the real reason of Angie’s complained stomach pain. It was then revealed that their daughter was 8-month pregnant. The following day, during the dawn of Monday, November 3, 2014, Angie gave birth of a boy in a normal spontaneous delivery (DSD).
Angie’s parents explained that they never thought that their daughter was pregnant since Angie has no boyfriend yet and aside from that they observed that her monthly period came at a regular basis.
In connection to the said case, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is conducting investigation with the assistant of the Philippine National Police (PNP) considering some of the possibilities that Angie may have been a r@pe victim.
However, Angie’s older sister dismissed the speculation. Upon posting, the pregnancy of a Grade 5 student remains a mystery.
On the other hand, similar report appeared on the website of Kickerdaily.com that 12-year-old Angie (not real name) is a seventh grader student instead of grade 5.
