The netizens were surprised for what reason Maxene Magalona went trending worldwide on micro-blogging site, Twitter on Monday, September 29, 2014.

This was because of her debut on “It’s Showtime” as she was one who sit on the judges table of together with mainstay Jhong Hilario and actress Jessy Mendiola.

The 27-year-old actress, is one among the eight children of the late OPM Francis Magalona to wife Pia, who was recognized by GMA-7 since 2001.

During the show, Magalona was introduced by “It’s Showtime” co-host Karylle as a “hurado” for the week. She then took the floor and said, “Sa lahat ng mga Kapamilya na nanonood, nais ko lang magpakilala. Ako po si Maxene Magalona. Hello!” she said.

As usual, it is a common practice in the show that audience normally asking from the new judge to perform a “sample” and at the same time one of the co-host Billy Crawford also urge her to perform a “sample” Magalona then, did not hesitate and she sing a portion of her father’s hit “Cold Summer Nights,” with altered lyrics to give tribute to the late rapper. This is one of the reasons that the actress’ name zoomed up and dominate not only the local trending topic on Twitter but later, worldwide as well.

She then took to her Instagram account to say ‘thank you’ to her supporter and fans who tuned in to the program. She also expresses her happiness having a ‘good feeling’ watching her name on the top trending topic online, she said “it’s nice to see trending online than to an “off-key” televised performance.

“Ang sarap pala mag-trending nang hindi dahil sa piyok at pagkanta ng off-key! Salamat ulit sa lahat ng mga Kapamilya na nanuod at sumuporta sa akin sa Showtime! Bukas ulit!” she said.

The actress also recalled her past performance on the now-defunct GMA-7 variety show “Party Pilipinas,” which she remembered before that she also made a round on social media following after her singing off-key in January 2012.

The actress also posted picture on her Instagram account showing her posing in the network’s studio wing with caption says: “The last time I was here, I was still a little girl running around and being so makulit as one of the cast members of Ang TV 21 years ago.”

“It feels good to be back! Thanks for the warm welcome, mga Kapamilya!”

Maxene Magalona has just sign up a contract with ABS-CBN.
