Video: Charo Santos-Concio Accepts The Ice Bucket Challenge!

The president of ABS-CBN and chief executive officer (CEO) Charo Santos-Concio accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

She accepted the challenge for the sake of funds for amyotrophic sclerosis or popularly called as ALS research after she nominated by TV Patrol reporters Gretchen Fullido and Doris Bigornia.

Before the challenge, the 58-year-old “Malaala mo Kaya” host nominated the senator Grace Poe and the actress Dawn Zulueta to do the challenge within 24 Hours according to the official rules.

The Ice Bucket Challenge was started in July 2014 in US to raise funds for the research for Lou Gehrig’s disease, another term for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects to nerve cells and spinal column and turns the patients into paralyzed.

The challenge got viral first in various social media sites.

Aside from Charo Santos, many celebrities and great personalities do the challenge and donate for the sake of research. They are Coleen Garcia, Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, Lea Salonga, Angel Locsin, Kris Aquino, and Justice Sec. Leila de Lima.

According to the rules, the participants have to recording themselves getting poured with ice water on the head, but before that, the participant have to nominate the people to do the challenge. And to those who refuse are expected to donate in ALS Association in US who pursuing research the disease.

As of now the association raised more than $100 million based on the reports.
