Khen Lobaton was able to manage the three coaches and made them turn their chairs with her impressive performance by singing the song popularized by Jay-Z, “Empire State of Mind.”
The 13-year-old singer from Bacolod City uses her heart in choosing the coach for her and she picked Sarah Geronimo after hearing from Coach Sarah promising to give her all including actor John Lloyd Cruz.
During her singing performance, Coach Lea Salonga was the first who turned her chair then about the middle of the song Coach Bamboo Mañalac also turned his chair while Coach Sarah Geronimo turned her chair just before Lobaton ended her song.
Each of the coaches expressed their willingness to coach Lobaton in her singing journey at the Voice Kids Philippines.
Coach Bamboo urged the young singer to choose him because he believes that his team is the perfect for her talent. “I need you on my team,” he said.
You’re singing about New York, my city, the city that has given me so much success over the years. You’re mine, that’s the end of the story,” Salonga said.
At the same time, Coach Sarah vowed to do everything to help Lobaton to achieve her goal of winning the said competition and she also promise to have John Lloyd Cruz with them in the team.
“Mag-uumpisa ka muna dito sa ‘The Voice,’ bago ka makarating sa iba’t ibang parte ng mundo, at karangalan ko na maging bahagi ng journey mo, sa pagtupad ng pangarap mo. So if you will let me be your coach, ibibigay ko lahat ng nalalaman ko,” she said.
“May John Lloyd ba tayo diyan? Wala. Busy kasi ang bebe ko ngayon eh,” Geronimo replied.
Coach Leah then called the former winner of “The Voice of the Philippines” Mitoy Yonting onstage to convince Lobaton to join her team.
At the end, Lobaton chooses Coach Sarah to be her coach if that includes actor John Llyod Cruz
