Brad Pitt was struck by a man in the face while walking the red carpet at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater on Wednesday evening May 28, 2014.

Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie who stars in the film have been attending the premiere of “Maleficent” at the time of the incident. According to the police report, Pitt was posing for photograph and signing autographs when the 25-year-old suspect identified as Vitalii Seduik jumped over the barricades and hit the actor.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Gus Villanueva confirmed that Golden Glove-winning actor Brad Pitt struck in the face while walking at the red carpet at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater.

The 50-year-old Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actor was not seriously hurt and police authorities immediately responded and subdued Sediuk who was immediately brought and remained in police custody during the night. Police officer said Sediuk appeared no armed at the time of the attack on Pitt.

Police Spokesperson Gus Villanueva said, Sediuk is now remain in the police custody until he can pay $20,000 bail.

According to the report, Sediuk work as television reporter from Ukraine who has often pranked celebrities at red carpet events.

It can be remembered that during the Santa Barbara Film Festival event, Sediuk has hugged actor Leonardo DiCaprio when the stage was stormed after Adele’s Grammy acceptance speech, he was then slapped by Will Smith after kissing the actor.

“Maleficent” is a modern reimagining of the Disney’s popular fairytale movie “Sleeping Beauty” and Angelina Jolie stars as its villain.
