Serafin Cuevas the former Supreme Court Associate Justice died on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at a noble age of 85. The Supreme Court has announced his death via Twitter on Monday, February 10, 2014.

Serafin Cuevas was a lawyer who has made a defense of chief justice Renato Corona on his impeachment case. He became well-known after he was recognized as Corona’s lead defense counsel during the impeachment trial on the year 2012. Beforehand, Cuevas earned popularity earlier of 2011 when he handles the impeachment case of former Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, who resigned on that year. He was also the one handles the impeachment case of the ousted president Joseph Estrada.
Cuevas was born on June 25, 1928 in the certain place of Bacoor, Cavite. He earned his degree at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law in 1952 and passed the Bar Exam of the same year.
