Cedric Lee the man behind of Vhong Navarro’s attack is now facing charges from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The NBI comes up with the decision to file charges against Cedric Lee in the grounds of attacking the comedian actor in a condominium unit occupied by Denise Millet Cornejo the female friend of the co-host Vhong Navarro that invited him to visit her Wednesday night of January 22, 2014.

According to NBI Director Virgilio Mendez he was informed that there was a serious illegal detention and serious physical injuries or frustrated murder that calls his attention to take action about the report.

“I was informed na mayroong serious illegal detention and serious physical injuries or frustrated murder. I am not sure yet [which between the two],” NBI Director Virgilio Mendez told ABS-CBN News in an interview.

He continued further saying “We are still trying to process na ma-identify ang kasama [ni Lee]. Hindi na natin i-delay ito. Kahit hindi kumpleto ang identities i-file na natin,” he added.

The NBI also told the media that Cedric Lee went to the office of the NBI on Friday and promise to go back on the following day which is Saturday, but he failed to return back to the NBI office.

“He promised to appear yesterday. Wala atang sumipot kahapon. Anyway alam naman nila na may investigation. In the PI (preliminary investigation). They will be afforded all the opportunities to give their side,” said Mendez.

Mendez also explained that the charges are likely to be filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ)

Assault victim Vhong Navarro revealed earlier during the interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” hosted by Boy Abunda on Sunday, all the entire beating incident and identified Denise Millet Cornejo and Cedric Lee with his camp as responsible for the said assault.

The following day, the business man Cedric Lee appeared on media and admitted his participation to the beating incident of Vhong Navarro. At the same time, Denise Millet Cornejo also appeared in the media and made her official statement regarding the incident but she denied the extortion issues instead she filed the case of attempted rape against the actor.

In the official statement of Cedric Lee he said that what he did was to protect his friend Denise who was under attacked by Navarro harasses and attempted rape.

However, the NBI revealed that they got already a copy of the CCTV footage during the incident which was submitted by the guard on duty at the condominium unit occupied by Denise Millet Cornejo. The NBI added further that the CCTV footage can be used during the investigation process.
