After the broiling dispute of tax issues, boxing super hero Manny Pacquiao privately met the Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III at the Malacañang Palace yesterday afternoon December 19, 2013.

In an ambush interview, President Aquino told the reporters that he is willing to listen to the sentiment of Manny Pacquiao regarding the tax woes filed by the BIR against him.

Both of them were busy, Congressman Manny Pacquiao is having a hectic schedule in helping the typhoon survivors in Tacloban City, so it took a while for them to meet each other.

President Aquino said, “I suppose he is busy and I suppose I am busier… There is no other point than scheduling conflict.”

Previously, Sarangani congressman Many Pacquiao is facing the alleged tax issues here in the country and United States.

After the fight in Macau where Manny Pacquio defeated Brandon Rios, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) spanked Manny Pacquiao with the unexpected tax assessment.

A total of P2.2-billion pesos including the value-added taxes were charged to Sarangani representative from his 2008-2009 boxing income.

The camp of Pacquiao says, considering that Pacquiao has unpaid taxes, that would not run to that amount of P2.2-billion pesos.

According to the report, Pacquiao was reportedly facing a problem in the US of $18-million unpaid taxes.
