Japanese beauty queen titleholder of Miss International 2012 Ikumi Yoshimatsu has been barred to do her part during the coronation ceremony where she will hand over the crown to her successor and supposed to have a farewell walk during the coronation.
The 36-year-old was deprived her role as Miss International 2012 and hand over the crown to the runner-up in the competition, as she cannot fulfill her duties during the coronation tonight.
The reason behind was that Yoshimatsu had a conflict with the man who was an executive of a top talent agency, an influential figure in Japan media and entertainment industries. The influential man has threatened her intimidated her and her family, extort money from her and to her company, says “The Japan Times.”
Yoshimatsu did not mention the name, but according to the report, the issue is linked to a criminal and civil case filed by Yoshimatsu against Genichi Taniguchi in the grounds of attempting to ruin her career.
According to the investigative journalist Jake Adelstein who wrote “Tokyo Vice,” Yoshimatsu problem triggered after she refused to sign the contract in which Taniguchi represented her to the agency which is linked with “Burning Production” Japan’s most powerful agency.
The reason Yoshimatsu refused to sign the contract with “Burning Production” because it was rumored to have connection with “Yakuza group.”
Taniguchi denied that he harassed Yoshimatsu in comments to The Japan Times.
“I’m no stalker,” he said. “I called her father at least twice to try and reach her manager to solve my financial dispute with him. I have no grudge against her.”
