JUST IN: DOH To Confirm Alleged 2nd Coronavirus Death in the Philippines

The Department of Health (DOH) will make a proper investigation to confirm the suspected coronavirus patient died in the country.

According to the report, Secretary Francisco Duque III of Department of Health (DOH) received information about the alleged second coronavirus death case in the country. The health department is yet to verify the validity of the said report.

Duque told reporter that the patient is an American national diagnosed with a pre-existed medical condition but died before the dawn of March 10.

Similar report aired via DZMM, noting that Duque made assurance of verifying the information to confirm the case.

“I still have to validate that,” Duque said.

The health department in the Philippines is currently in a full alert of fighting to contain the spread of the COVID-19 that infect 24 people in the country. Majority of the victims are Filipinos and some other races of American national and a Taiwanese. The DOH alerted of the coronavirus case after learning the local transmission of the virus as some of the victims shows no record of travel abroad.
