Passi City will be subjected to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the rising COVID-19 cases. According to Passi City Mayor Stephen Palmares, the lockdown will begin at 6:00 am, January 28 to February 11, 2021.
Palmares added that there is a checkpoint on the entire perimeter of Passi city starting today. All establishments are closed except for essential businesses such as food vendors, pharmacies, hospitals, and financing institutions.
Only one person will be allowed to leave each house where they will be given a quarantine pass. Palmares is calling on residents not to leave their homes because the COVID-19 case in their area is alarming.
Palmares explained that the national highway of Passi City is open to those traveling from Iloilo to Capiz and vice versa.
But he asked motorists to just pass through Passi City and not get out of their car.
It is learned that Passi City LGU report as of 2:30 pm, January 27, 2021, 84 market vendors initially tested positive for COVID-19 but tonight it is still rising more than 100 out of more than 600 down in the RT-PCR test.
