Tropical Depression “Vicky” slightly slows down as it moves closer towards the Davao Oriental-Surigao Del Sur area. Tropical Depression Vicky slightly slowed down late Friday morning, Dec 18, as it headed for the Davao Oriental-Surigao del Sur area. Here are areas under Signal No. 1, which will experience “a strong breeze to near gale conditions” when Vicky crosses land.

The combined effects of Tropical Depression VICKY and Tail-End of a Frontal System (Shear Line) will bring:

Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Caraga, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Southern Leyte, Leyte, and Bohol. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Bicol Region, the southern portion of Quezon, Lanao del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, and the rest of Visayas, Davao Region, and Northern Mindanao.

Vicky and the surge of the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan combined will also cause rough to very rough seas in the next 24 hours. Waves will be 2.5 to 4.5 meters high in the following:

  • entire seaboards of Northern Luzon
  • seaboard of Aurora
  • eastern seaboard of Quezon including Polillo Islands
  • seaboard of Camarines Norte
  • northern seaboard of Camarines Sur
  • northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes
  • eastern seaboard of Albay including Rapu-Rapu Islands
  • eastern seaboard of Sorsogon
  • northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar
  • eastern seaboard of Eastern Samar including Homonhon Island

PAGASA added that seas will be moderate to rough, with waves 2 to 4 meters high, in the coastal waters of areas under Signal No. 1.
