With the release of her most recent album, Like You, Gen Z superstar Belle Mariano is embarking on a new and exciting phase in her musical career.

Belle, who is already regarded as one of the most in-demand young musicians of her time, keeps demonstrating that she is more than just a movie star. She recently released her most current album while simultaneously getting ready for her eagerly awaited big-screen comeback alongside Donny Pangilinan in the romance drama Tayo Sa Wakas.

During the Star Magic Spotlight Presscon on February 23, Belle talked to PUSH ABS-CBN on how her musical upbringing served as the foundation for her preparation as a vocalist. She claims that the “videoke” formed her love of singing and sustained the fantasy throughout time, long before the cameras and scripts.

Given that she has been on screen for over ten years and only released her first song four years ago, Belle also talked candidly about how singing feels different from acting. She finds solace and artistic fulfillment in the unrestricted expression of emotions through music.

In response to the question of which craft she finds more difficult, Belle stated quite frankly that each has its own set of challenges.

For Belle, the album’s core is more than just inspiration. She disclosed that the primary goal was relatability, with the hope that listeners will identify with the songs and experience the warmth that comes with love.

Belle acknowledged that songwriting is a desire she aspires to eventually fulfill, despite the fact that she did not write any of the songs on “Like You.” She revealed that although she has attempted writing in the past, she still wants to get past the difficulty of finishing a song.

Belle also talked about the musicians she hopes to work with as she pursues her musical career. On a global scale, she praised Grammy-winning vocalist Olivia Dean, whose sound she believes complements the upbeat and joyful atmosphere of her record.

Additionally, she intends to work with regional performers like Cup of Joe and the country’s girl group BINI, thrilling fans with the prospect of potential future musical collaborations.

In the meantime, Belle will make her big-screen comeback alongside Donny in Tayo Sa Wakas, which she called her most poignant part to date. She talked about how the project intrigued and challenged her right away.

She also commended Donny for his commitment and help, despite the fact that they are working on different projects.

Tayo Sa Wakas, which was directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, will be released in cinemas in May.
