Ejay Falcon, an actor and former vice governor of Oriental Mindoro, discussed his unsuccessful run for Congress in the 2025 midterm elections.

After winning the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother, Ejay became well-known. He eventually entered politics, which surprised a lot of people in some way. But from 2022 to 2025, the actor was elected to the position of Vice Governor of Oriental Mindoro.

MANILA — Despite doing all within his ability to secure a congressional seat in the 2025 elections, actor and former deputy governor of Oriental Mindoro Ejay Falcon admitted that he shed tears.

“Hindi naman maiiwasan na iniyak ko siya. Ibinigay mo ‘yung best mo. Nangampanya ka,” the politician-actor admitted. He added that one of the reasons why this happened was not having adequate election funds.

Reflecting on his lost Congress bid, Falcon continued, “After nung iyak na ‘yun, siguro, may purpose si Lord kung bakit nangyari ‘yun. Hanggang biglang nag-SONA. Nung SONA, pumutok na ‘yung issues katulad ng flood control, malalaking corruptions.”

He continued, “Ngayon, alam ko na ‘yung purpose — God’s protection, redirection.”

The former public servant went on to explain that one of the people who clarified the situation was Laurenti Dyogi, an executive at ABS-CBN and one of his mentors.

He continued by explaining why he wanted to run for Congress, saying that because of his humble background, he was seen as someone who could connect with and motivate the young people in his province.

He added, “Galing din ako sa wala. Nakakapagtrabaho ako sa showbiz. Okay naman na ang buhay namin. Pero gusto mo kasing makatulong,”

Then, while he was vice governor, he proudly disclosed that he had finished his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Major in Local Government Administration at the University of Makati.

He is now actively marketing his latest picture, “Kappa-tiran,” which was produced by Marcos Mamay and directed by Neal “Buboy” Tan.
