
MANILA — Marielle Montellano, a member of the TNT Duets season 1 grand champions, is back on “It’s Showtime” as a Tawag ng Tanghalan judge.
Montellano joined Erik Santos and Louie Ocampo as judges of the singing competition on Tuesday’s ABS-CBN noontime program.
Montellano said, “Thank you po for the opportunity. Maraming salamat po.”
When host Vice Ganda asked Montellano whether she was nervous, she said, “Medyo po kasi po first time ko po rito sa TNT. Kasi 10 years ago contestant lang din ako diyan (sa stage).”
The “Sidlak Bisdak” combo, Montellano and JM dela Cerna, were declared the winners of the inaugural TNT Duets in 2023.
Montellano appeared in TNT season 1 before joining TNT Duets season 1.
Montellano and dela Cerna are currently featured in the latest season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar.”
The announcement was made by TNT producers on Tuesday, highlighting Marielle’s vast experience and musical expertise as valuable additions to the show’s esteemed lineup of hurados.
Marielle, who has impressed audiences with her parts in critically acclaimed plays and TV series, expressed enthusiasm for her new position as a judge.
The Tawag ng Tanghalan team emphasized Marielle’s versatility as both a performer and mentor, saying her insights will enrich the competition’s dynamic and inspire contestants to elevate their craft.
“Marielle’s background in musical theater and her keen ear for vocal nuances make her an excellent fit as a hurado,” said TNT executive producer, Lani Mercado. “Her presence will surely bring fresh perspectives and constructive critiques that will help our contestants grow.”
