“Self-care isn’t selfish.”

Actress Belle Mariano from Meet, Greet & Bye has long lived by this motto. Despite her busy schedule and the growing demands of her life and work, she makes a conscious effort to take care of herself.

Belle highlighted in an interview at Sanicare’s Hygiene Hangout event how self-care has become essential to her.

“Self-care for me is really important ‘cause that’s where you get your energy to present yourself to the world, right? This just goes for sa lahat sa ‘tin na in order for us to show and appear our best version or your best version out there, you have to take that time talaga to make sure that you are the best,” she said.

Belle has come to value taking breaks, investing time and energy to self-improvement, monitoring her hygiene, and selecting things that make her feel confident and clean.

“I lived by the mantra na self-care is not selfish and I think ayon yung misconception na naiisip ng iba na if we take care of ourselves na selfish na agad. Hindi ganoon iyon. Feeling ko na kailangan mo lang talaga na mag-allot ng energy sa sarili mo, ng time sa sarili mo para makapag-allot ka rin and provide sa mga tao na mahal mo sa buhay,” Belle stated in a post-event media event.

“Kung maganda yung trato mo sa sarili mo, mas maganda yung pagtrato mo sa iba. It’s like a reflection na to all the more you love yourself all the more you have the energy to love the people more,” she continued.

Belle admitted that she sometimes feels overwhelmed when attempting to strike a balance between her professional and personal objectives, which is why taking a break has become essential.

She is a longtime ambassador for a Filipino hygiene company, stated that it is important to her that the goods she promotes align with her beliefs and way of life.

Belle gave a special reminder on the true meaning of self-care to her fans and the younger generation that look up to her.
