MANILA — On November 29, Jimuel Pacquiao, the eldest son of eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, will make his professional boxing debut as the main attraction on a show sponsored by his father’s company, Manny Pacquiao Promotions (MPP).

With the event, MPP will make its U.S. promotional debut, ushering in a new era for the boxing family.

In a much awaited co-main event at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, the 24-year-old Jimuel will take on fellow debutant Brendan Lally.

Jimuel’s journey into professional boxing has been extensively watched, with his legendary father keeping a close eye on the young boxer as he develops his talents.

He has been training diligently under the guidance of Marvin Somodio, a longtime assistant to Manny’s legendary trainer, Freddie Roach, at the famed Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, a familiar stomping ground for his father.

“It’s a big moment for me, and I’m very excited to finally make my professional debut. My father has been a huge inspiration and a great mentor. I’ve learned so much from him, not just about boxing, but about dedication and hard work.” stated the younger Pacquiao.

Having attended many of his son’s training sessions, Manny expressed his pride and gave his battling son some advice. “I’m very proud of Jimuel. He has the heart of a fighter, and he has worked very hard for this. I told him to focus, train hard, and always stay humble. This is just the beginning of his journey.”

Jimuel has apparently had a decent amateur record, displaying promising talent, despite the immense weight of the Pacquiao name.

It is anticipated that the event on November 29 will attract a lot of interest from both ardent boxing fans and others who want to see one of the sport’s most enduring legacies continue.

As Jimuel takes his first professional steps, all eyes will be on Temecula as he attempts to uphold his father’s legacy while forging his own path.
