ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (Star Cinema), ABS-CBN Corporation and ABS-CBN International complaint and filled in US Federal District Court in Florida last November 21, 2014 against 18 pirate websites for damages of over $12 million resulting from violation of the copyrights and trademarks of Kapamilya network’s such as movies, TV shows and among others.
The perpetrators are using unincorporated business associations that was operate through domain names registered with registrars in the U.S and unknown sources.

ABS-CBN complaint that the defendants provide on-demand streaming performances of full length versions of Kapamilya TV episodes shows and movies through their website. The defendants often to display the latest content in their web page once the ABS-CBN broadcast in the Philippines.
According to ABS-CBN AVP of Global Anti-Piracy Elisha Lawrence, they stated that “this is another phase in our relentless enforcement campaign to identify and punish pirates whose sites have been reported to contain malware that can cause substantial financial harm to innocent people who were just trying to view our shows and movies.”
