According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), three people were killėd and four others were injurėd as a result of Severe Tropical Storm Florita.
It’s 8 a.m. According to the NDRRMC’s situational report on Florita’s impacts, one fatality and one injurėd person from Region 5 (Bicol Region) are still being verified.
However, the two confirmed fatalitiės are from Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Florita, which left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning, impacted 11,953 households and 47,169 people across five areas.
The typhoon also displaced 10,355 people, the majority of whom were housed in 129 evacuation facilities. A total of 1,013 people from Region 2 (CAR) were also evacuated ahead of time.
51 people, seven rolling loads, seven boats, and 11 motor bancas were stuck in Calabarzon owing to 15 ports that were closed or halted excursions due to Florita.
According to the NDRRMC, 10 of the 15 ports have already started operations.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC recorded 61 cyclone-related occurrences in Regions 1, 2, Calabarzon, 5, and CAR, the majority of which were flooding.
The cyclone also destroyed 30 dwellings, 26 partially and four completely.
According to the NDRRMC, Florita caused 422 cities and 169 cities and municipalities to cancel schools and employment.
As of Thursday morning, the Department of Social Welfare and Development has distributed a total of P4,8567,078.48 in aid to the impacted areas, including family and hygiene kits, food packs, and tents.
