President Marcos Jr.’s Response to House Resolution Urging Philippines’ Cooperation with ICC Probe on Drug War

NewsInsider

President Marcos Jr. told the media “Maybe it’s not the right thing to say outside, the foreigners will tell us who our police will investigate, who our police will arrest, who our police will imprison.”

Marcos Jr. says that while House resolution on the ICC probe ‘is not unusual,’ there are still issues of jurisdiction and sovereignty that need to be resolved.

Marcos Jr.: Now if we can solve these problems then that would be something else, but medyo fundamental yung mga kwestyon na ganun eh.

Marcos Jr.: Because if you are talking about the jurisdiction of the ICC especially since that we have withdrawn from the Rome Statute few years back, that brings into question whether or not this is actually possible.
