Reports have surfaced online that BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa have chosen not to renew their contracts with their current label, YG Entertainment. However, it’s worth noting that despite this decision, the trio is reportedly committed to staying with their beloved group, BLACKPINK. This development has sparked considerable interest and speculation within the K-pop community and among fans, as it potentially signifies a significant change in the dynamic between the group and their management.
An exclusive report from Sports Seoul has indicated that Rosé is the sole member of BLACKPINK who has reportedly renewed her contract with YG Entertainment, while the other three members are in the process of transitioning to different agencies while maintaining their positions within BLACKPINK.
The report also disclosed that Lisa and Jisoo are purportedly transferring to new agencies with down payments exceeding ten billion won.
YG Entertainment has issued a concise statement in response to the report. “BLACKPINK members’ contracts have not been confirmed yet and are being discussed,” the agency said.
Following reports of a potential departure of BLACKPINK from YG Entertainment, the label experienced a significant downturn in its stock prices, plummeting by over 13 percent. Data from the Korea Exchange on September 21 indicates that YG Entertainment’s stock price dropped to 69,200 KRW (51.59 USD) per share, marking a substantial decline of 13.28 percent from the previous day’s value of 79,800 KRW (59.50 USD) per share.
