In Chicago on Sunday night, Taylor Swift informed her Eras Tour audience that she “swallowed a bug” during a little coughing fit.
The 33-year-old Swift spun around to hide her mouth as she coughed while introducing the newest member of her band, pianist Karina DePiano. “I just swallowed a bug. I’m so sorry,” videos from the performance purport to show her saying “I’m so sorry” to the audience.
“It’s totally fine,” Swift remarked, “It’s just stupid,” and then attempted to spit the insect out, joking, “Delicious.”
Swift then seems to laugh about the ordeal in the video, suggesting she has fully recovered.
“Is there any chance none of you saw that? It’s fine… I swallowed it,” supporters laughed at the remark she made to them. “This is gonna happen again tonight. There’s so many bugs.”
