Mark Herras, a Kapuso star, confessed that the deaths of his family members caused him to question the Almighty Creator, but he subsequently discovered the meaning of this.
Mark’s big break in entertainment came when he was named the first-ever Ultimate Male Survivor of the Kapuso talent competition StarStruck.
During that time, he was provided possibilities that strengthened his entertainment profession.
Mark revealed that despite his career success, he nearly gave up on show business. According to the Inquirer, that was when members of his family bid him goodbye.
“Namatay ‘yung lola ko, then my dad, then my mom, then my tito — sunod-sunod sila. 2011 si lola, 2014 is my dad, after two years my mom, then after six months my tito,” Mark Herras recalled.
He stated that there was little chance for him to mourn since another death occurred before he could move on.
As a result, his mental health was affected. When people were asking Mark why he intended to get into show business, he answered that it was to support his family financially.
Unfortunately, as he lost his loved ones, he also lost his motivation to continue.
“Nung nawala ‘yung core na pamilya ko, wala na. Parang nawalan ako ng direksyon sa buhay, kung ano pang dapat kong gawin,” Mark Herras shared.
Thankfully, that circumstance shifted when his wife Nicole Donesa and their son Corky entered his life. It was also at this point that Mark Herras discovered why he had to say farewell to his family members.
“Before lagi kong tinatanong na, ‘Why God? Ano po bang plano Niyo sa ‘kin?’ Nung time na ‘yun kino-kontra ko na, ‘Parang mali, hindi Niyo dapat sila kinuha sa ‘kin’ pero ngayon ito pala ‘yung purpose,” he said. “Para matuto ako sa buhay, to be a responsible father sa anak ko and to be a better partner sa wife ko,” he continues.
