Joven Olvido, a comedian who gained to popularity after doing a viral ‘vape trick’ at the Pilipinas Got Talent contest, has been arrested for his involvement in the illegal drug trade, according to local authorities.
The Sta has confirmed this. The buy-bust operation that led to Olvido’s arrest was carried out by the Cruz Police Station in Laguna. According to the information provided by the aforementioned police station, Olvido, who is currently in their custody, was arrested in Sta. Cruz was arrested in Barangay Duhat on Friday after attempting to sell suspected shabu to undercover anti-narcotics officers.’Police were able to seize five sachets of shabu weighing roughly 12.5 grams from Olvido, valued at P85,000. The P500 bill that had been used as marked money was also found.
Olvido, who had multiple television and film appearances after joining ABS-talent CBN’s hunt program, was arrested in May 2021 for a second drug-related offense. Three little sachets of shabu and P2,000 in marked money were seized from the comic at the time. Olvido rose to national prominence in 2018 because PGT judges saw potential in him after he performed a spontaneous comedy with judge Vice Ganda. He then went on to perform bogus ‘vape tricks,’ which attracted social media perhaps most.
