Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte announces that she has tested positive for COVID-19 for a second time. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has moved to quell possible coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks in residential and commercial establishments, including condominiums and subdivisions.

The Mayor himself confirmed her status through his official statement shared on the social media pages of the “Quezon City Government.”

“Walong buwan mula nang ako ay unang mag-positive sa COVID-19, ikinalulungkot kong ibahagi sa inyo na ako ay muling nag-positive sa virus.”

“Sa kabila ng matinding pag-iingat at paggaling mula sa virus noong nakaraang taon, ako ay nag-positive pa rin.”

“Ito ay mahalagang tanda na hindi tayo maaring maging kampante kailan man pagdating sa sakit na ito.”

Mayor Joy, on the other hand, made sure that she immediately conducted contact tracing on those she met so that they could be notified immediately.

Meanwhile, the mayor is still thankful that her symptoms are not severe but she stays at the Hope Community Care Facility in Quezon City while she recovers.
