Raid and arrest of Lumad students of Save Our Schools Network Bakwit School in the University of San Carlos – Talamban, Cebu. There are 25 individuals including teachers and Lumad elders were arrested by joint forces of PNP, AFP, DSWD, and Alamara paramilitary elements, according to group Sandugo.

Statement by Rius Valle, spokesperson of the Save Our Schools Network (SOS), regarding the arrest of 25 Lumad natives at a Bakwit-School inside the University of San Carlos in Talamban, Cebu on February 15, 2021.

Valle asserted that it was not true that the police conducted the “rescue operations” of the 25 Lumad at the said university.

“Sapagkat hindi ito isolated incident at hindi ito bago para sa aming mga Lumad. Sa katunayan, 2015 pa ay nakaranas kami ng iba’t ibang klase ng pag-atake sa ating mga sangktuwaryo.”
