The returning of the residents to Western Visayas are now allowed. This was after the government task force that are in charge of addressing the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed the partial lifting of the suspension of inbound travel by returning residents of Western Visayas.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the partial lifting in a meeting on Tuesday, September 15.
According to the IATF, “Therefore, the temporary suspension of inbound travel of returning residents in the provinces of Guimaras, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Antique, including Iloilo City in Region VI is hereby lifted.”
The temporary suspension was put in place to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 which, as of September 15, has infected 269,407 people nationwide, as of GMA News.
Under the resolution, only returning residents are allowed entry to Western Visayas.
As of this writing, Western Visayas has now a total 8,536 COVID-19 cases, 5,312 recoveries, and 128 deaths.
